LIGHTNESS/EFFICIENCY :
The weight to power ratio of modern machines is a vital aspect of efficiency, especially on different types of terrain.
The best possible ratio guarantees qualities such as agility, responsiveness, speed and lower consumption.
In view of the above statements, and given the possibilities offered by the DELTA anti-wear treatment, SEDIS has succeeding in developing a technic to produce a chain without joints since:
1 )-Chains equipped with joints are 5 to 14% heavier depending on the manufacturer, which in turn increases the mass of dead weight being carried.
2 )-Their efficiency is substantially lower than that of chains without joints.

SEDIS chains without joints are 98% efficient.
This means that on a 350CC motorbike with 30 HP on the drive pinion, there are still 30 x 0.98 = 29.4 HP on the wheel.
The average efficiency of a chain with joints is approximately 80%.
In the example given above, the power available on the wheel is 30 x 0.80 = 24.0 HP.
The difference of 5.4HP is substantial, i.e. 18% of available power lost.
In a further effort to improve the efficiency and performance of chain engagement around the pinion and ring gear, SEDIS is the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of chains with BOWED PLATES (SEDIS PATENT)
Highly effective on all types of terrain.
This type of chain is designed to reduce engagement friction and wear of the rear sprocket by bowing the interior plates to prevent contamination building up. This leads to a further increase of available power.

EPILOGUE :
Thank you for travelling this far. You may have found some of the more technical sections boring (sorry, we couldn't help it). If so, please accept our apologies.
If you have not found satisfactory answers to the initial questions, and if you have not been convinced by our technical arguments, thank you for reading them anyway.
We will not despair though, and still hope that one day, your machine will be equipped with one of our chains. In the meantime, have a good, safe journey.
If you have found the answers to the initial questions, and if your chain is showing signs of fatigue, please click on the links on the Search side to specify and submit your order.
